Hey guys, normally I don't post the results of my fantasy draft franchise but I'm so excited after this draft that I just had to share. I'm playing as the Boston Red Sox and got to pick 30th overall (last). I'm using the O.S.F.M. Rosters of course (thanks to everyone involved in the making of those rosters)! Anyways here is how my first 10 rounds went and how my lineup ended up...
1. Bryce Harper (RF-CF)
2. Yasiel Puig (RF)
3. Here is where it started to get crazy...Giancarlo Stanton (RF-LF/DH) was still on the board here! The last pick in the 3rd round! So I took him of course!
4. Salvador Perez (C)
5. David "Big Papi" Ortiz (DH)
6. This was the other crazy steal here. The first pick of the 6th round and Manny Machado (3B) was still available! Had to take him, couldn't believe he was still there!
7. Xander Bogaerts (SS)
8. Brandon Crawford (SS)
9. Anthony Rizzo (1B) Another guy I couldn't believe was still available.
10. Jurickson Profar (2B)
After the draft I had to try and get my boy Pedroia... And I was able to! I had to give up 21 year old Profar and 2 Top 50 Starting Pitchers to do it but I feel it was worth it. So after the draft and a trade here is my lineup...
1. Pedroia (2B)
2. Machado (3B)
3. Puig (RF)
4. Ortiz (DH)
5. Stanton (LF)
6. Harper (CF)
7. Rizzo (1B)
8. Perez (C)
9. Bogaerts (SS)
Bench:
Jonny Gomes (LF)
Daniel Nava (RF/1B)
Billy Hamilton (CF)
Devin Mesoraco (C)
Brandon Crawford (SS)
Rotation:
Josh Beckett
John Lackey
Bronson Arroyo
Travis Wood
Mike Leake
Bullpen:
Felix Doubront
Kevin Gregg
Joba Chamberlain
Phil Coke
Sam LeCure
Andrew Bailey (Closer)
Anyways that's my team. I know my pitching is a little weak but I have some young arms down in AAA/AA that are developing, including 3 more top 50 prospects and headlined by Dylan Bundy. Anyways like I said I normally don't share the results but after getting Stanton and Machado that late and being able to trade for Pedroia I had to share.
Anybody else had some crazy steals in a fantasy draft? It would be fun to see other people's results/ excitement!
(Again thanks to everyone who worked on the O.S.F.M. Rosters! Without you guys this draft would have never happened!)
