To use their minor leaguers and see how good they are?

Something cool and another way to enjoy franchise mode. I love drafting fireballers and using them in AA as a player lock for a game.

Good to know I'm not the only one... I love doing this... I even do it when I trade for a really good prospect... so much fun

It definitely is another way to enjoy the depth of franchise mode. I love it. I don't do it often, but it is nice having that option to do a quick game.

I use player lock on minor league prospects that are struggling. An example is when Kris Bryant was hitting around .240 in AAA, and I sent him down to AA. He wasn't doing any better, so I played as him for a few games.

Sometimes I help the prospect out, sometimes I strikeout three times, but it's still a lot of fun, and an awesome feature.

This was one of the reasons I was so happy about this years game. I love being able to play with certain prospects before making roster decisions because their are some players that I just don't like to play with. I employ the quick counts option on a minor league game here and there early in the season to get an overall feel of my minor league teams. After that though I like to player lock on certain players to mix up the monotony of playing with the MLB club every game. Also, in my opinion it makes it easier to be patient with a player allowing him to develop while still getting to play with him a fair amount and not have to worry about sitting through whole games.
