Re: Does weather even matter?

From my experience rain provides a higher speed of wind which does in fact have an effect. It could just be a coincidence that higher wind days happen on rain days but that's just my experience with it.

Ah, I must be thinking of High Heat then. Or 2k...can't remember which.

But aside from having an effect on gameplay, I would also love to see dynamic weather where it changes over the course of the game. Be cool to see storm clouds moving in

2k had it near perfect and nearly 6+ years ago. They had dynamic weather where it would vary in terms of amount, as well as having rain delays and rainouts. In 2014 where so many games are rained out and teams are in climates that vary from April to October there is little excuse, in my mind, to not have weather elements fully featured in any sports game that is outdoors.

I don't have time to look it up but I remember a dev saying rain does not affect the game. Hot/cold, night/day I don't know.

Re: Does weather even matter?

Might be my imagination, but it seems whenever I play with rain, there are always 2-3 errors a game.

Would love for actual park effects to be in, especially those based on the location (mile high, San Fran's marine air, high/low temps or day/night differences, etc).
Coors does play different than other stadiums. Ramone or one of the other devs has said so.

Haven't seen a rain delay, but I played a game at Safeco Field and it looked amazing. I can see why Ramone and the team are casting more focus on lighting... when it's right, the game looks gorgeous.

2K put it in one year, but there was a glitch where if a game was postponed it wouldn't be properly rescheduled for a later date. You would get back to the main menu and it would be as if the rained out game never happened and you just re-play the game the same day. It was weird and all glitched. So they took it out with a patch.

It has never been in The Show.

Apparently programming rain delays and cancellations is just wayyyyyy to complicated for any baseball game designer too accomplish. It's right up there in difficulty with curing cancer. Almost impossible.
