When to use each type of swing?

Just wondering when everyone uses normal swing, contact swing, and power swing? I'm in the middle of one of the worst slumps of my Show career and have been playing around with this. I have always used power swing 3-0, 3-1, 2-0, contact swing any time theres 2 strikes, and normal swing all the rest. What about you guys?

Same exact philosophy here. I really feel like using contact on 2 strikes helps to foul off pitches and protect the plate a lot better.

Normal swing in almost every situation other than 3-0/1. Then I use power swing. Don't really use contact swing.

Re: When to use each type of swing?

Contact when I'm down in count with two strikes. 0-2, 1-2
Normal when I'm ahead or tied or full. 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2
Power when I'm way ahead and feel like trying. 3-0, 3-1,
Power works great when it works, but I have a hard time using it with pure analog. Zone it works great.

Re: When to use each type of swing?

Normal 9 times outta 10

3-0 I take all the way so I'm not power swinging, but sometimes on 3-1 I will, depending on game situation.

Also sometimes I'll power swing on the very first pitch, looking for a fastball, if it's not there I take it.

Contact swing I use on 0-2 or 1-2 against lefties with my lefty RTTS player (I have major trouble with lefties)

Normal almost exclusively. If I'm down 0-2 with a guy that is slumping or my pitcher, I'll use contact to try to get the opposing pitcher's pitch count up by fouling off balls. Almost never use power unless it's 3-1 (I don't swing 3-0) and it's Stanton or some monster at the plate.

I seldom use the Power swing...since I can hit a HR or even 2b run with my normal swing (Contact R/L - 60/60; Power R/L 60/55 in my AAA). I guess I should follow some of you to use Power swing on 3-0/1. Contact when im behind or there's a runner in 3B and there's only 1 out.

Re: When to use each type of swing?

from reading these I'm surprised how many people seem to automatically take a 3-0 pitch. if the situation is right and you get a good pitch to hit then why not? only time i could think of automatically taking no matter what is if you're losing a close game in late innings.
