Commentary DLC Packs?

Just wanted to throw out a fun idea to gauge interest and hopefully spur some conversation down at SCEA San Diego: If MLB 15 The Show had DLC packs that would change out the Vasgersian, Karros & Lyons default commentary with that of a club's local broadcast team would you buy it? If so, how much would you pay for it max and what would your ideal price point be? Also, if your favorite local team wasn't part of the offered DLC packs would you purchase a different team's pack?

For example, I'm a big Cubs fan so if a Chicago Cubs Len Kasper & Jim Dehaies DLC Pack wasn't available and there were only, say, 4 or 5 released I would buy one or more if one of the packs were Steve Berthiaum & Bob Brenly (Dbacks), Hawk Harrelson & Steve Stone (White Sox), Dick Enberg & Mark Grant (Padres) or Vin Scully (Dodgers) just for the novelty and to mix things up, especially for road games. I think the maximum I would pay for one of these packs would be $12 and the ideal price would be $7. With today's advancements in transfer speeds, storage increases and audio codec advancements I was wondering if something like this would be possible, firstly, and if so, if the fan interest would be there to justify SCEA San Diego spending the time and resources on recording additional commentary sets for one game. Cross-game compatibility so you could use it in future The Show games would be great, too, and I would be willing to pay a little bit extra to support SCEA if they offered that feature.

The idea is possible but you would need all the broadcasters to record the lines. A good idea but it would be hard to execute

I wouldn't spend a penny if they are as disconnected as the stock ones are.

Re: Commentary DLC Packs?

the only problem i have with this game is the commentary but its a big problem. i think all sports games need to do is patch in new commentary every so often. all they need to do is create a program that uses a person voice to say whatever they want on the script. i know its hard with sports games to keep the commentary fresh but i think a real attempt amongst all sports games is needed to change that.

Re: Commentary DLC Packs?

I already have Len and JD's voices in my head commentating on the action in my Cubs franchise (minus the almost constant Seinfeld references unfortunately), but I think this would be a very cool idea. The problem is I'm not sure how much of a market for this type of thing there would actually be and it would take a ton of extra time and money to get all of those lines recorded by additional broadcasters.

I'd much rather see the folks who work on the commentary work on making the three core announcers flow better and fit better with the action on screen. I don't see your idea ever happening (not that it's a bad idea really), but I say lets get one set of broadcasters down really, really well before even thinking about branching out.

Count me in the camp that would rather see the current commentary worked with. I would love to have Eric Nadel call games in the Show, but it's not very realistic.

Scully. I am an east coast guy and will dvr LAD games just to listen to him call the game. Replace them all with Scully and set it as a $5 package. Over the years, he has had to say the name of every player, record it and let's hear some stories.

Re: Commentary DLC Packs?

I wouldn't even buy the game if Rex Hudler was involved in it in any way.

Seriously.
