I agree. Scully makes me want to watch baseball. Most others cannot. Especially the Fox crew. (Shudders)

Scully was in mlb the shows baby brother on ps1...pennant race. He was good, the game was just an preview of what was to come. I am sure most know that, just putting it out there and I do agree with you. Its not that the show has bad play by play...its hard when you play so many games of anything it gets repetitive.

Besides the fact if the commentary lines itself are good or not, often the lines are waaaaay to late. If you hit a linedrive for example and it gets caught with a dive or something cool the commentators are calling the great dive/play when the ball is allready going round.

Total disconnect.

Also at the beginning of the game when Matt tells us which teams are playing against eachother you really notice he recorded all the team names seperately and they just glued them together depending on who's playing. Sounds really ps2 era and is something that I believe wasn't the case in older versions.

"Big swing at a fastball and he got a lot of it high and deep to center field... and now this'll rattle up against the wall... he's heading for second... he'll take the turn and head for third... the relay... and he's in there with a triple!"

Every... frickin... time. I can list a ton of others. Still there are those out there who will claim real life commentators are equally repetitive.

Call me biased but SNY's crew Gary Keith and Ron are so entertaining on so many different levels. Something like that for commentary would be great.

If you've never heard that bunch call a game I feel bad for you. I watch a lot of baseball I've heard what most have to offer. It's not so much the play by play that's great, it's the entertainment, stories, and knowledge. Great mix and they keep you laughing.

Tbh I'd rather take a shot gun blast to the face than listen to 9 innings of Scully.

i was saying this on another thread too...commentary is the only thing i dont like about this game and its a big problem...but thats all sports games though. i would think it would be cool if they made 3-5 templates of commentary we could select before the game like you select fast play or day or night game.

Re: "That ball is popped up and I mean way up....."

ive noticed a lot of people like the cubs broadcast crew in real life....they to me are horrible....i get so bored watching a cubs game and their stories are lame...but in the big picture, thats always been a problem in real life watching baseball...the announcers are old and dry. there's probably about only five men in history that are remotely entertaining to listen to
