Recognizing pitches.

I'm in my first year of RTTS and after moving up from Double A I am having a helluva time recognizing pitches in Triple A.

I was wondering what are some things you guys do to recognize pitches and if you had any tips. I dont know if my reflexes are just getting slower in my old age but it seems like If its not a fastball or changeup I'm unable to put the ball in play often (1-18 in my last 4 now...incredible slump) or hit it directly to a player.

Perhaps it could be my lackluster hitting stats as I've used most of my points on defense and speed. But it just seems like i was hitting better in AA with weaker hitting stats.

Maybe it's just a slump, time to switch up some accessories.

Any batting coaches out there? heh

Peace guys!

Re: Recognizing pitches.

If you use timing, try Pure Analog. I felt like I was always early on breaking pitches with timing. The one thing with Analog is, different strides have different timing, and a LOT of them are not in sync with the animations. a good example is Marcell Ozuna's.

Re: Recognizing pitches.

Change the camera angle to Custom...depending on the pitcher, put it slightly to the right, right behind the RH pitcher, to see the plane and the angle of the pitch sooner. For LHs, put it over the left shoulder - not you may have to tweek it a little depending on the differences in release pt in their deliveries. But I've cut down my strikeouts on OOTZ sliders by a ton. You're more susceptible to changeups and pitchers with good changes in offspeed though. I do find this more real life though.
