How to generate fielding animations?

The foot-first slide of an infielder on a groundball, the swan-like rocket snag at 3B, etc.

When I dive, it hits my stomach half the time lol

Re: How to generate fielding animations?

I think it depends on timing. I had the same problem. It was only a couple of days ago I actually dove and caught a ball.

Re: How to generate fielding animations?

I think the game should just automatically do a better job on diving and sliding plays.

Even if you dive past the ball, the player should still make an attempt to stop it with their glove, so instead of it hitting your body, the player would actually try to put a glove on it.

This would also help stop the ball from getting away when diving with an outfielder.

And to answer your question, i don't think you can generate the animation you want, it's all timing and situationally based.

Re: How to generate fielding animations?

The fielding animations in this game really need to be overhauled ASAP. Nothing worse than being stuck in a canned animation as the play passes you by.

I mean it is 2014 and we can't even cut a throw off to catch the runner trying to advance behind the play if we didn't choose to throw to a cutoff man to begin with.

Not to mention those slow playing animations in the field where you do everything right but the game just says "f it", you are not going to make the simple play because you are caught in some dated animation.

For as good as this game has been it has a lot of work that needs to be done.

Re: How to generate fielding animations?

Yeah I can count on one hand the times I've successfully caught a ball on a dive.

I was wondering about that slide move too, the AI does it to me but I have no Idea how to do it. I get the Ole matador move though a lot when I have to put Vmart at first to give Miggy a rest.
