Typically how many pitches do you chase out of the strikezone in a game?

In case you don't know how to find out in a game, go to pitcher analysis switch to the other team, switch to all pitchers, go down and go to swing type or pitch type ( forgot which one ) and select chased and see the number it shows.


Typically for me I usually chase around 10 to 20 pitches in a game usually getting thrown about 100 to 150 pitches on legend mode.

How about you guys? It seems really hard to get below 10 chases in a game without being overly patient. What is the sweet spot for you guys?

It depends on the pitch speed. I've gotten patient enough that at the default pitch speed, I don't strike out chasing as often as real-life MLB batters do... so I've increased the Pitch Speed slider to make it difficult for me to recognize pitches more. It has worked wonderfully and now I chase about as many as CPU hitters do (which is fairly realistic, probably CPU is a bit better than laying off pitches than MLB players though).

The difficulty level doesn't matter much in terms of the number of chases. It's entirely you who triggers the swing, and that decision is independent of the difficulty level.

I play RttS and I will chase 1 to 2 pitches every other game. The ones I sometimes chase is the curveball that looks like it will be in the middle of the plate and just "falls off the table"...mainly the 12to6 ones.

I avg about 15 per game, swinging to damn early on an off speed pitch though is what gets me most often

depends on too many factors, there are some games where I may not chase much more than 5, and others where I'll chase over 15 or 20. I've never kept a record exactly
