Growing up, or not...

I'm a season vet of The Show but I don't know the answer to the following question. I believe it will most likely be no, but I'm curious if you guys have any methods of making this more realistic.

Do players gain and lose weight as years progress in franchise mode? I think this is a feature, if it's not already in the game, really needs to be there. It's pretty apparent that this has an effect on players in real life over the course of their career, for better and worse.

I thought of this tonight as I was reading through and looking up some stats on the Chicago Cubs prospects. C.J. Edwards (the Cubs top pitching prospect) weighs in at around 155-160. I'd love to see him around 170-180 by the time he get's to the Majors.

I would honestly be surprised if they did. This seems like something we would have heard on with a feature list before. I've never really gotten far enough in a franchise mode to see if this happens but I assume it does not. The good thing is we can go in and edit players to our liking (if we use 30-team control). I'll definitely bump C.J. Edwards weight up a little before he makes the leap into the Majors.

Re: Growing up, or not...

Maybe MLB will loosen their grip a little & let height & weight (or at least weight) be editable. I'll hold out hope it's a possible since contracts & potential are now editable. I do realise that MLB had nothing to with potential not used to be editable, though. Then sometime down the road we can add facial hair to real players. Of course, it would be easier to program players being added beards that don't really have them, over taking away beards from players that do have them.

The show has a regression/progression system so I feel weight would lumped into this category as far as affecting performance down the road.

When the catchers put their gear on they gain 30, does that count?
