I remember in MLB 12 I downloaded a patch, I was in July in my Franchise and the Mariners went from the worst team in the league to having something like a 127 game lead in the division. Ruined the entire Franchise and I had to start over. Since then I have never downloaded a patch if I have already started my franchise.

I know I'm in the minority, but really don't think the player models are that bad. Certainly no where near as bad as people are making them out to be. I think they're fine.

They aren't "that" bad. I think they're fine for now, considering we are just starting this console gen. But already compared to other sports games these days, they just feel very last gen. I honestly would be pretty disappointed if they aren't upgraded in the next year or so. I know it may seem trivial to some, but things like the jerseys moving freely in the wind, or bouncing as a player jogs, moving as a player swings, would really add to the immersion, and I think would go a long way to giving the game a fresh new look, something many people have complained about the last few years.

I'm with you on the player models, could they better???? sure they can. speaking for myself only but when I'm playing, I'm more focused on the ball and the play at hand that I don't even notice the high level of detail in the player models. as long as the gameplay and animations are nice and smooth that really all that matters to me.

I was gonna say something regarding player models, but this just sums it up fine.

Totally agree. Especially with the new licensed equipment. Seems to really add something to the authentic look.

I think the player models look fine when at bat. In the field during closeups is when they look a tad off to me, but it's pretty negligible IMO.

If I'm being picky, I'd just say they need to add a few more body types.

Re: Graphics?

Looking at Big PAPI and Kung Fu Panda, I think they need a different more "athletic stocky" build, but other than that, I see no probs.

Re: Graphics?

The models for the most part are passible, they do the job and don't look distractingly bad or good.

But then you get models like Chris Davis

Just terribly unnatural looking. Weird barrel chested where arms are clipping into the chest.

I've read this is because of the one skeleton they use for all models, where different (especially larger models) just don't look correct.

Models definitely need a makeover. Better textures, animations, body dimensions, would be nice to see jerseys looking and behaving realistically.

At the very least they need to introduce new, more natural looking body compositions to the game.

And probably the thing that bothers me even more, is the constant sliding of feet when players step in and out of the batters box. Pitchers as well. It's one of the most irritating things when you find a Batting Stance you really love in RTTS, only to have your guy step in and do the moon walk. Happens with the warm-up swings as well. Really kills the immersion.

If they were to address just those few issues the game would look and feel substantially better.
