Deep Thoughts - Quick Counts

First time I am trying quick counts this year, I plan to try and play as visiting team for every game for every team, probably very unrealistic so may just do one or two random games each day of the season....

Anyway I digress.

I like the random counts for speed of the game, but shouldnt the occasional 0-0, 0-1, 1-0 count be thrown in for good measure?

And are the quick counts based on any ability by pitcher or team he is facing(batters)?

For example would I see more 0-2, 1-2 counts pitching with Kershaw then with Edwin Jackson?

And would I see more deeper counts when facing a team with good OBP% that know how to work a count?

QC's are not based on the pitcher, it is random, at least from what I see. I love QC's but my only gripe about it this year is there a ton of 1-1 counts. Sometimes I get them 4 or 5 batters in a row. I just wish it was more random.

The developers said they made more 1-1 counts on purpose

I like them. I can play fast and accurate. I would say I end most games with a realistic pitch count, strikeouts and walks. It's not perfect but I can't go back to playing without quick counts turned on. I want enough realism in my games to not ruin the fun of it all. I finish most games in 20-30 minutes. Its perfect for me.

Re: Deep Thoughts - Quick Counts

I tried to use quick counts again this year and they still don't do it for me. I like how I can get through a game in 35-40 minutes, but it takes too much fun away. I miss the presentation that a faster game eliminates, plus I just can't get into a batting strategy with them. I was really hoping they would separate quick counts for batting and hitting this year. I think I would use them as a pitcher, but just can't do it with batting.

Re: Deep Thoughts - Quick Counts

My problem with quick counts us that my brain doesn't reset to each new count when it is generated.

That's why I'd rather have full ABs where I can better keep track of the count. Yes the scoreboard is on the screen but at the start of an AB you don't care about that usually.
