Players not running on base hits

I have runners at 1st and 2nd, 2 outs and I get a base hit to right field which was a close play to being a line drive out but wasn't. My runners on 1st and 2nd don't run, they stay put (not sure why) and by the time I realize they aren't running, I'm thrown out.

This obviously doesn't happen every time but it happens enough to be a problem.

Has anyone experienced where your baserunners aren't automatically running to their next base?

Yeah it's happened to me sometimes too. Usually in a ball that is hit into the gap and I can see nobody will catch they just stand there. By the time I see they aren't moving I have to make them run and they don't score or get thrown out.

Yea and I'm not paying attention to the runners because with 2 outs they should be running on ANY hit but they don't always.

Had this happen a few times last year so I got into the habit of always sending runners with two outs right after making contact

I just had another one happen although this one is not as problematic for me because maybe the runner thought it was going to be a lineout so I'll give the benefit of the doubt.

I literally could not do anything because as soon as I hit the ball my 1st base runner was already diving back to 1st.

I uploaded a video of it to Youtube.

Happens to me often as well. I've also noticed if I have a guy on first with no or one out and hit a grounder that's going to be turned into a double play, the runner that was on first stops half way to second. So there is no chance to try to break up the double play.

Yeah I also noticed runners just stop running as soon as they are out... even running down the first base line, they just give up lol

Here's another one. This was the very next game I played. Trust me you'll like this one.

I'm actually surprised that more people aren't bringing this issue up. It's happening once in almost every game I play.

My guess on that one you posted is that because of the vicinity of the ball to the pitcher.....the AI is triggered to go back to the bag.(regardless of whether the pitcher could possibly field it....my guess is there is a range around fielders that tells the AI..."he might catch it"...just my guess though)
                      I play M.o.M. games.....so it's all A.I. and I don't see that unless it's a line drive near a fielder.
I'll look more closely for it being present...but I don't think it is.

It is present. I just experienced a couple of really dumb base running decisions in a MoM game.

In one case it wasn't all that different than the video extremeskins04 posted. The opposition had a base runner on 1st and the batter blooped a single just out of the range of the short stop and the ball landed in between the short stop and the left fielder in the outfield. The base runner on 1st should have been half way between 1st and 2nd waiting to see if the ball would be caught. But no he retreated to the 1st base bag and my left fielder was able to throw him out on the force at 2nd base.

In the other case I had a base runner on 2nd, 1 out and I am trailing by 2 runs in the middle innings of the game. My batter smacks an easy double into the right field corner scoring the run, but he was thrown out going for 3rd base. Upon watching the review I could not believe what I saw. The ball was already on it's way to the 2nd baseman before my base runner even made it to 2nd base and the 3rd base coach clearly has his arms up giving the base runner the hold sign. But does the base runner stop? No he does not. The ball arrives at 3rd base before the base runner is even half way to 3rd base and is easily tagged out. What drives me nuts is the next batter hit a double into the gap.

These poor base runner decisions never existed in MLB 14.

I haven't really noticed what you guys are talking about, but my runners on 2nd or 3rd NEVER advance on bunts. No matter which side the bunt is to, if there isn't a runner behind them, they wont budge. I have to risk stealing my runners with pulling back on a bunt and getting caught.

Here you go, video of the CPU base runner retreating back to 1st base when he should have been in between 1st and 2nd waiting to see if the ball would be caught or not.
