Re: Simming Patterns for Your Franchise

I shared this in another thread but, my system is:
Sun -Quick Counts
Mon -player lock(batter)
Tue -QCs
Wed -PL (b)
Thu -QCs
Fri -QCs
Sat -PL (starting pitcher)

I've loved it so far, plus with an off day in every week it really goes quick. This is just my schedule for April, I may change it for other months

Re: Simming Patterns for Your Franchise

I usually play 1 game per in-game week. To mix things up, I just pick a random day and play that game. Keeps things interesting because I'm not usually playing with the same pitcher each time but sometimes play 2-3 games in a row with the same SP so I get some familiarity. I have several other games and "life things" vying for my time so I make use of the Fast Forward feature, too. Typically FF through a half inning at a time so I can pick up and go if I need to. Usually end up actually playing more like 6-7 innings. I also swap between actually playing and just managing. Like others, I will usually play every post-season game.

I hate changing difficulty in the middle of a season so if I find that it's getting too easy to win every game, I'll sometimes alternate between playing and simming in the postseason just to keep things a little more interesting. Then I'll adjust difficulty before the start of the next season.

I play then sim 10. If there is a "fun" series I play it out. In September all bets are off if it's a close race. I have been known to play all of September.

I play out the playoffs if I make it.

I play one, then sim three. If my team falls out if the playoff race, then I sim five for every game I play.

I sim more because I want the simmed stats to influence my team totals. No matter what I do to balance the game with sliders, I'm always off . The sliders I use now give me the correct number of hits, extra base hits, homers, and runs per game, but I only average 1 walk per game and 4-5 strikeouts. Simming helps even out my stats.

I'm playing with the Rays and in about 35 games. I use quick counts and fastplay so the game takes about 25 minutes or so. Unless you get one of these ...

Re: Simming Patterns for Your Franchise

I like to pick two guys in the rotation to pitch with at the start of the season. On their days to start, I pitch with them, sim the hitting. For the games they do not start, I sim the pitching and I hit the entire game.

The fast forward option is a great addition for that.

If the games are close at the end, sometimes I jump in, sometimes I don't. Helps me get through a lot of games, while having a hand in every outcome.

wow 25 innings that is crazy! The most I have ever had in these games is 16 and I don't play with QC so that 16 inning game took me like 3 and a half hours. A 25 inning game would take me like 5 hours lol.
