    My Cubs bretheren.

I'm not sure if there's some team-specific franchise threads somewhere (I looked) so if there is just point me in the right direction.

I'm curious for those of you using the Cubs like I am, who are you using as your backup first baseman? I've got Mike Olt at Triple-A Iowa so he's not an option for me. I really need to give Rizzo a day off. I've been thinking about either David Ross, Chris Coghlan, or Welington Castillo.

David Ross is probably your best bet. I think he's the only other player on the roster that has any experience at 1B

I've been waiting to see what the Cubs do in real life but Rizzo's played every inning thus far.

I play Bryant at first. It was something mentioned by Joe Maddon when he pinch ran for Rizzo earlier in the year so thats what I am going with

I personally do use Mike Olt but since he is not a option for you try Kris Bryant. Castillo would be a stretch and I would not try Ross.

LaStella maybe? Or do you have him in AAA also?

              Re: My Cubs bretheren.

I'm playing in 2017, so my roster is somewhat different from 2015 real life, but when I've given Rizzo a breather, I've played Bryant there once, and I have Dan Volgebach on my roster as a left handed power bat on the bench. I haven't done it yet, but I imagine Kyle Schwarber could play first ok. I also signed ARam as a free agent, and use him as my backup 3B and RH PH, and I'm sure he could play first too.

*I play Bryant in LF as his primary position, and use Russell at 3B and Baez at 2B.

I haven't really considered Bryant at first base since he's being considered and getting time in the outfield. I have LaStella at Triple-A Iowa.

I went with David Ross at first last night but may still consider Bryant the next time Rizzo needs a rest.

I'd go with Coghlan. I believe he is the Cubs super sub these days or maybe Herrera. I think Coghlan might have even played a little 1B last year in Iowa.

I'm in 2015 myself. Carried over from last year with the hybrid rosters. As of right now, I don't have a backup 1B on my roster.
