A better way to implement the "Power Button/Contact" in my opinion

Anyone else doesn't bother to press 'Square' because it just feels unnatural after using 'X' to swing 90% of the time?

So how do the Show Devs feel about holding the "R2" button and swinging with X for power swing? and holding 'R1' and swinging with X to use Contact swing...

Or even tapping the 'R2' button instead of holding it to activate power swing and still using the 'X'

Grab your PS4 controller and you'll see how natural it feels to hold 'R2' and still use the 'X' to swing...

Anyone else thinks it would be a good idea?

PS4 has a feature which allows you to remap buttons. It might be worth a try.

The issue is that The Show already uses those buttons for other actions. L1/R1 for leadoff. L2 for steal. R2 for info/guess pitch. They'd have to rework the controls significantly to get that to work.

I'd rather it be some form of pre-pitch input. Like hold R2, then square or circle (like how you input swing influence with the right stick) and then X is always used for swing. If you don't put in any pre-pitch influence it is a normal swing.

But even with that being said I have no issue hitting square or circle instead of X. It has never bothered me.

That's the way it used to be back on PS1. You just press square to rotate between HIT AVG or HIT PWR.

I find that I hit enough home runs with the 'X' that I hardly ever use the power swing. The only time I use it is when I am ahead in the count 2-0, 2-1, 3-0, and 3-1.

Ive only hit 1 HR using the power swing, whereas ive had plenty success with the normal swing and have probably hit about 15 with contact. HR are more timing than anything.

i like how that other ps4 game has it.
you have to hold down the swing button and let go and time it when power is maxed andcontact with the ball is about to happen.
