This exact thing happened to me when playing a buddy of mine. He just went and picked it up and sat back down while my runners were still running!

And sometimes the Ball Boys just stand there not picking up foul balls too.

Been a bug since launch that I saw someone report. Have had it happen several times online and people just continue running. Extremely cheap, but that's how people play online. I've never been on the other side of this, but I would stop between 1st and 2nd and give them the out. I hate being handed hits like that. Errors I'll take, but winning on a clear glitch is never satisfying.

This probably won't happen, but when I read this I thought of a sharp ground ball down one of the foul lines that the outfield ballboy accidentally picked up and threw into the stands. I've seen this a few times on TV and it is fairly funny. A double is awarded usually for interference. Obviously if SCEA were to implement this it would have to be extremely rare, (only once or twice per season in the MLB) not like the pitcher dropping their glove at the pitcher's mound every two appearances...

I've had it happen once. I use auto-fielding, and for some reason this year the catchers under AI control just let foul balls bounce off them. It looks pretty silly. But once the catcher was actually in fair territory when it happened, and the ball boy came and got the ball. Luckily I was offline so the CPU runners only took one base each. Unluckily it was in the 9th and ended up costing me the game, because had the catcher fielded it properly, it would have very likely been the third out. Instead the tying run came home on the "play", and I ended up losing in extras.

I had this happen to me when I was playing an exhibition game as the Angels. I was fielding so it went against me, but I laughed my *** off anyway. Especially at the way the Ball Boy struts out there, picks up the ball and struts off like he doesn't have a care in the world.

It's like he is thinking, if you aren't going to get it, get the hell out of my way and I will get it.
