Re: Holy cow, Zach Walters!

I am using Willard's hybrid roster. Didn't realize he edited his power +20 from SCEA ratings until I downloaded OSFM 2.1 and looked at it.

So don't count on it lol. Honestly don't know why he was bumped up in power. Was he really hitting a ton of homeruns in the minors??

Re: Holy cow, Zach Walters!

Not sure. I dont think he was doing anything really special in the minors. Well if I bring him up, I'll let you know what I come up with, with him.

Im using OSFM 2.1V roster

Franchise SIM is dead. Find your favorite iterations and play it forever. Card games are whats "now" and games will cater in that direction and forget realism.

Just have fun and play :)

Re: Holy cow, Zach Walters!

This got me intrigued and I tried to google up some scouting reports on this kid.

"Walters, a 24-year-old switch hitter, has spent time at shortstop, second base, third base, and left field. He has played in a handful of games for the Nationals, but spent most of the last two seasons with Triple-A Syracuse. This year there, he's hitting .300/.358/.608, with 15 home runs, 5 triples, and 18 doubles in 237 at bats. Those are nice-looking power numbers."

That's one from 2014, but it .966 OPS in AAA. That's nothing to sneeze at.

I looked up his stats on Baseball Reference:

.980 OPS @ AAA Syracuse/Columbus last season in 292 total ABs.

I don't know what stats he uses for his ratings, but if these had any influence, that might explain the power jump.

Re: Holy cow, Zach Walters!

Yeah he definitely has good power numbers but 85 power seems really high to give him.

I agree. That seems extremely high imo. Wow, so what is Santana or Moss's power then 100 lol. Zach is not that good of a player.

Santana is 62/71 power. Moss is 85/90. Another odd thing I noticed is that Brantley's power ratings were lowered to 38/47. I was wondering why I only had one homerun with him in June lol!

Unfortunately all this means I'm prolly gonna set this franchise aside for a new one with OSFM 2.1 w/pitch edits once I finish editing guys with ratings SCEA has updated them with.

That is kind of odd. But then again, idk how they get the ratings, so I never use hybrid rosters personally. I think (or at least it doesnt bother me) SCEA does a decent job as far as ratings go. But I love the added players and equiptment that OSFM offers. Ive always used theres personally. Just my $.02

And considering all the ratings are going to change throughout the life of the franchise, the starting point doesn't matter as much to me.
