free agency

Can someone school me on this? I wanted to sign a FA and I got a message that my roster was full. I sent Weeks down 'on assignment' which put him on waivers. My roster showed I was down one player 24/25. I tried to sign the player and it still said my roster was full.

So I played a couple more games and it was now about 3 days later in the franchise. Weeks was no longer on my roster and I still showed 24/25. I tried to sign the FA and I still got the error that my roster was full and I needed to release someone. I finally found someone to release and picked up the player but it confuses me that when I got rid of a player that I still couldn't sign a FA.

Cheers!

Your organization roster not MLB roster. You can only have 90 players. You need to release someone. Can be MLB or minors..

Re: free agency

So even though I released Weeks on waivers and he was no longer showing up on my roster, he was still considered on the organizational roster?

Did you actually release him? Or just designate him for assignment. Like Hoz said above your Organization roster is full at 90. You probably didn't actually release Rickie Weeks he probably cleared waivers and is sitting in the minors. You'll have to release players to create room for free agents.

If you designated him for assignment then yes. Since you have the option to send him to the minors within 10 days he is still on the roster. You have to release him, wait for someone to claim him or wait the 10 days and it will automatically release him.

Yeah, that is where I messed up and confused myself.
