It's been helpful on certain types of outfield fielding situations (cutting off balls in the gap) but my outfielders still drop way too many fly balls. I've just accepted it as part of the "run environment" of my franchise. I'm not willing to turn 1/4 of the game (pitching, hitting, baserunning, fielding) on auto-play since I wouldn't do that if one of the other aspects was frustrating.
