Its all about options, customization, and allowing people to play the game as they see fit. It may not make sense to you, but to him it does.

If he grew up in the era of baseball I did, there were only 26 teams at the time and 2 divisions in each league (EAST & WEST)

It does if you are trying to replicate a past season. Let's say someone made a season for the strike year 1994. The DBacks and Rays weren't in the league that year. So you can remove them to make the league real to that day.

Ok, I guess I worded it wrong. It does make sense. I think it was more to the "or any other team part". I could see being able to drop the expansion teams, but hey, to each there own I always say And yes, I am in that same era

Franchise SIM is dead. Find your favorite iterations and play it forever. Card games are whats "now" and games will cater in that direction and forget realism.

Just have fun and play :)

I actually prefer the 1960's set up. Two leagues. No divisions. If you won the pennant you went to the WS. No 52 rounds of playoff nonsense where the hottest team at the time wins.

That's just me but I wish I had the ability to set this up in the game.

Offline custom league setup and the ability to edit schedules would be sick.

I know the chances of something like this happening are slim and none, but I would LOVE to have classic teams.
