Now we all recognize the value and need of custom rosters. McCutchen is hitting the best he has all season. Sabermetrics Don't Know Baseball. Bo Knows Baseball.

31 hrs donaldson got nothing
30 hrs Teixeira took a four point power decrease
30 hrs JD Martinez got nothing

29 hrs Bryce took a 5 point power decrease
27 hrs Frazier with a 11 point power decrease
27 hrs Arenado 27 with a 18 points power decrease

I got nothing but warmth and happiness with reading about these changes, then nothing but complaints following it. Guys, they are making it even more accurate then they had before. You are passing judgment but don't have all the data.

I read the OP but I'm still not clear what they mean when they say "Big changes"...aside from the players subsequently shown to have a rating change.

Are they saying they're changing the manner in which they calculate the ratings?

It sounds like they have a well-conceived philosophical basis for these changes, so I'm fine with it.

Can't help but notice that the developer went out of his way to stress the relative insignificance of overall ratings only to be greeted by a slew of responses by folks who are quite obviously looking at overall ratings in forming their conclusions.

If I were SCEA I'd hide the overall ratings and be done with it lol.

Not looking at OVR at all in these complaints that have already been mentioned:

- Chapman should absolutely be rated 99 in velocity.
- Betances should be rated much higher in velocity as he regularly throws between 97-100 mph.
- Eovaldi regularly throws between 97-101 mph. He needs a serious increase in velocity as well.
