Why is Online Franchise Different From Offline?

    Can anyone explain?

Specifically, aesthetics. Player cards, roster management, draft prospect info, menus, lineups, and such are all styled different. Lineups and rotation include player energy level. Player cards include tendencies. Scouting is different. You get the picture.

So why is this? What's the reason why these things aren't copied over to offline?

Me too, although the only ones I play are Madden and The Show. With Madden, I don't recall there being too many differences outside the part of online where you can instantly sim a whole season in the amount of time it takes to sim one week in offline mode.

With The Show, though, there are a lot of noticeable differences, including the opposite of Madden where as you can sim a whole season offline in the same amount of time it takes to sim one series of games online.

really i had a feeling something was off. ive only been online during franchise in the beginning. so i thought it was just the spring training fields that were making the game seem smoother because of the lack of seats and ppl and stuff going on beyond the outfield. i never have my internet connected until i check for an update or whatever. hmm interesting good eye

I'm looking more at aesthetics, like how the player cards look different and players energy levels are also included in the lineups and rotations menus... whereas in offline, you can only see player energy levels in pregame pitcher and lineup selection. I didn't see this explained. All I saw was them listing features.

I know they have different codes for offline and online, but when it comes to the actual design of the menus and such, why aren't they the same? My assumption is they should be able to copy those codes over to offline to give it the same style. I'm wondering why specifically haven't they done that.

Depends. I'm an offline guy too.

Online takes forever to sim if you're a sim player (one who doesn't need to play every single game).

Online doesn't have the in-game fast forward option, even when playing by yourself in a private league against the cpu (big letdown for me as I like to bat and fast forward through the innings when I'm pitching).

Online, you have to manually approve every single trade in order for trades to go through, even with trades between cpu teams.

To put it simply... if all you want to do is play as one team and have the cpu control the rest, online is too much hassle. But I would like to see those menu features in offline too.

Sorry I misunderstood your question. But yes there are a lot of differences, and online could use an overhaul

The strange part is that position player fatigue is a non factor in Online Franchise so the fatigue display is even more of a head scratcher

Now that, I didn't know. That is odd if so. I never got that far into to check.

Oh, I also forgot to mention another thing I don't like about online franchise is the fact that Fast Play is mandatory and can't be changed at all. What if I want to see my players jog around the bases and watch replays after a HR? Or if I hit a walk off and want to see the celebration? I think an option like that should still be an option.

As someone put it in another post somewhere: online franchise in the show is a sh^t show.

And I can attest to that. I play everyday and have done 3 seasons with a friend of 162 game season. We constantly have to do workarounds and have house rules for things. It definitely needs an overhaul.
