Nothing

Sports games in general have far too many already, there is a nice widespread set right now. Dont get people claiming Durability when it is already in the game but ok. As for Framing, it could go in with Blocking and be called Catcher awareness.

All of these attributes could be done under the hood and do not need new tittles in my humble opinion.

So, for example, if you're increasing Contact against lefties, you'll see a representation of likely batting average against lefties that increases as you increase the lefty contact attribute. If you're increasing discipline, BB/AB% will go up. If you're increasing K rating for a pitcher, K/9 will go up. Of course, many attributes are interrelated, but I'm sure this could still be represented.

I'd love this because I have a hard time figuring out what ratings I should edit to make a player more accurate. You can do testing by simming seasons, but that's quite time consuming.
You can and I have done a lot of this and it works. But you're right that it is time consuming. I like your idea and it sort of dovetails with an idea I had about having projections available (like running a player through the sim engine) before the season starts.

The issue is that both stamina and ability to avoid injury are rolled into the same attribute is what people don't like. For example, what do you do with a guy that gets injured a lot, but plays ~160 games when healthy? A lot of people want 'ability to avoid injury' and 'stamina' to be separate ratings.

This game really needs a gap power rating that is separate from home run power. I've had seasons where guys like Ben Revere are getting double digit homerun totals.

Ratings

1. Energy
2. Durability (As a previous poster said, these should be 2 different ratings.)
3. Hit Distance. (Call me crazy, but I've always had this idea of having a power rating that determines how far you hit your homers. Some players like Stanton hit absolute bombs, so it'd be cool to determine if your guy just hits homers or hits moonshots. Kind of a shot in the dark, might be better as a tendency or something.)
4. Range, I guess reaction might take care of this along with speed, but this could determine how effective a player is the further away he gets from his position.
5. Rob Homerun ability (OF)
6. Acrobatic Catch ability (OF)
7. Dive/Slide ability (All fielders)
8. Call Game Ability (Catchers)
9. Pick Ability (1B, scooping out low throws)
10. Jumping (Determines ability to catch high throws, leaping for high liners.)

Tendencies

2K definitely has it right with tendencies and I think The Show could benefit greatly from it as well.

1. Pull/Oppo Hitters (Obviously want the ability to edit it.)
2. Aggressiveness on basepaths (Try and stretch a single into a double, etc.)
3. Slide/Dive (Go for the ball, or try to cut it off.)
4. Flyball/groundball (pitchers)
5. Free swinger/take pitches (Guys like Joe Mauer always take the 1st pitch)
6. Throw out/Throw to cut off (Are outfielders aggressive trying to throw out runners at home)
7. Headfirst/Feetfirst (Some baserunners never go headfirst into bases.)

All I can think of right now, some of these are super nit picky, but it's one of those things that I think will help improve the difference between players and overall feel of the game.

Re: New player attributes that you'd like to see

I would like individual attributes for utility players or players that play more than one position.

EXAMPLE: have an attribute for each position they are capable of playing

Re: New player attributes that you'd like to see

As I think Dran was saying, split up durability and a player's energy.

As for the others:

Pitch Recognition
Pickoff Success
Power be combined
Framing

Maybe it's me...I'd like to see an estimated statistical season display below the rating. So if I choose 75 lefty and 80 righty, I get an estimated batting average of .290

Also...how about some tendencies?!? How 2K implemented how AI players behave with certain situations would be ideal in The Show. I'd love to be able to place a % as to how often a player would swing at a first pitch, miss at a breaking ball, hit a high fastball, hit the cutoff man, dive, etc.

For pitchers...

Pickoff and/or holding runners.

Side note... Jon Lester's should be 0.
