The fact that they have been around that long and some people still don't notice speaks volumes about how unobtrusive they are.

Nah, it just means ppl don't really know what they are. Like dude said above, buying Stubs is a microtransaction.

No, I just think people are making an artificial distinction between microtransactions that are necessary to even play a game enjoyably (see most "freemium" games/apps) versus those that are optional and non-essential to complete utilization of the game.

Unobtrusive is an understatement. As a franchiser, I really like how the stub system works. I can take the stubs I earn from just playing the game and use them to provide a boost for my budget or give myself a boost for an RttS player.

I've been tempted to buy stubs, but I've never felt forced, and in the end I have all platinum sponsors and I'm sitting on a stockpile of over 60,000 without ever buying any (thank you DD cards).

I'm saving them for the off-season (currently on Sept 10th).

SDS' overall track record is too long&great for me to have anything other than a good feeling for 16. While the Show doesn't have everything I'd personally desire, it always does more than enough right to spend what amounts to 18 cents a day for a years worth of baseball.

Make the game fun for the rtts users. I'm sure the developers are smart enough to know franchise mode players and especially manage mode users like myself want realism.

I'd honestly guess not alot of kids play The Show at all. Though it sure does seem they are trying to attract them with the changes they have been making each year.
