Outfielder assist tabulation

I just recently noticed this for the first time, but outfielders are not credited with assists when there is a relay on the throw. For example, if the right-fielder throws to the relay man who then nails a guy at the plate, there is no assist for the right fielder.

Anybody ever looked at this? I'm wondering if this also applies to infield run-down situations as well. But since assists are not included in the box score you have to look at season totals and compare before and after the game, so perhaps this isn't working as it should for any of the fielders.

They might have added it for 16.

I think there still are quite a few issues of stats attributions like this one (e.g., errors, earned runs). These are hard to keep track unless done meticulously, so if they were to be corrected, we would have to meticulously report them on bug tracking and be patient.
