Re: MLB The Show 16 Impressions Thread (Impressions Only)

I was lucky enough to have MLB The Show early this year. Here is my impression this game.

Based on the OS rating system: 9.44

I made a blunder a couple of years ago, and focused on what I thought was important, instead of looking at the overall game value.

Why is it that a game that is so beautifully simple can be made into something so incredibly complicated? - http://www.coachbaseball.info/?id=39....p59pQnQM.dpuf

SCEA does a great job when you consider the simple / complicated angle of baseball.

BASEBALL IS BETTER!!

Couple other things
If you pick a branded compression sleeve the wrist tape colors break. Cant change color they stay white.
Accessories are sweet though. I really like the branded sunglasses.
Shoes look so much better this year.

Also one of my fears was realized. For Fielding you can't have just the button accuracy meter on above the players heads. You also have to have the God awful huge eyesore below their feet on too.

I use a 'clean screen' , but that is just me. Have you tried to throw w/o the visual aids> For me it is a rhythm base option without the visual aids.

Amazing what Russell and crew do every year with this game. Lighting which I already thought was really good is even better. The game has a really tight control feel if that makes sense. Player models look amazing as well. Hit variety right out of the box is very noticeable in my case. Kudos

Going on vacation for 5 days is gonna be tough. Y'all pray for me

The wait for Monday at midnight will be worth the wait. Great job SCEA

Re: MLB The Show 16 Impressions Thread (Impressions Only)

Played 10 games in play now (no quick counts - involving 20 different teams)

This game is amazing. The Show has never changed so much in a cycle.

Hitting – I’ve never loved hitting so much. Precision imput, zone (with analog stride and swing) and new sounds off the bat are an awesome combination. For the first time in the series i had the feeling of being at plate. Variety is great, and there’s a good speed balance between the ball and the defense.

Pitching – Like hitting, it’s not hard or easy, it’s simply real. This time we have to locate every pitch and we can no longer rely only on confidence. I had good starts turned into bad ones in a blink of an eye.

Fish eye – I gave up after 5 or 6 games and tried “The Show 16”, which is by far my fav camera angle. Fish eye is good looking, but i was swinging at too many borderline pitches and find the strikezone too small, expecially for this iterantion in which every inch count when locating the PCI.

MLB The Show 16 is THE GAME

Re: MLB The Show 16 Impressions Thread (Impressions Only)

One thing I'm not sure is working properly is within Franchise Mode:

When loading up a carry over save and reviewing GM goals, it shows my team's 2015 season, but labeled as 2016. I've tried importing the same league but at 3 different save periods (end of regular season, end of postseason, end of offseason), but they all show the year incorrectly.

Just a comsmetic thing, but still a bummer.

Also, franchise will now track things like the number of times you've led the league in something (among other things), but this doesn't seem to take into consideration any of your carry over save info either in the same three test files I tried. Gose led MLB w 67 steals, but it was not tracked on my league leader area of my GM mode.

Bummer :/
