Why can't I play online vs friends?

Every time either of us sends an invite to the other person and we accept it. It says challenge failed. Anyone know why this is? I didn't see anything discussing this already.

How are you sending the invite ? Over the weekend I sent an invite to a friend by pulling up my friends list...did not work. Next option I went with was going in to the "lobby rooms" where my friend n myself were able too see each others names. Doesn't matter which room, just pick a general lobby n find each others names. Once that is done then one of you guys hit that middle pad on the controller and you'll see ur friends that are online somewhere on the right hand side. Highlight the name n send a challenge...worked well for us...hope this helps

Im having the same damn issues. Frustrating as all hell. Tried 15 times in a row hoping it would just work once. Nope.

Try the above way. Should work fine

Me and a friend had this problem last year. Keep alternating who does the challenge, eventually one will go through. Sucks

This also happens to me. Whether its a diamond dynasty match, battle royale, or against a friend, 99% (no exaggeration) of the time it pops up with challenge failed. Something in the online portion or Sony's servers is seriously broken.
