Should the ingame ticker work and give live updates of actual MLB games during exhibition games?

I was just playing and the live ticker never showed although it is definitely set on. At the moment there are several live games, but I got no news or anything.

I tried closed captioning and was able to see the subtitles of the commentary, so I guess the screen size should be ok.

Any ideas? Could it be a problem that I live in Europe?

Not if you're playing franchise.

I'm not sure on exhibition though.

It does not give live updates of real MLB games in exhibition, unfortunately. That is something I've wanted for years.

That's bad news, I thought that this is what it is meant to be for.

But mine does not give any news or scores of the MLB at all. I think I watched a youtube stream of an exhibition game where I saw some score updates in the bottom.

I seem to remember 2 or 3 years ago SCEA mentioned that they wanted live real world updates to be made available in the ticker. But this never seemed to become reality. Not sure if they encountered technical issues or just a legal issues with MLB. Now it's been a while since I played an exhibition game so I am not even sure if there is a game ticker in those games. But in Season and Franchise modes, the game tickers are for the virtual games in the respective Season or Franchises and those games needed to have been completed before hand for them to show up in the ticker or out of town score boards in the stadiums.

Anybody know how to set the frequency of the ticker? I know we used to be able to set it to 2nd, 5th, and 8th innings only. Can we still do that this year?

Yes, can confirm the option to have it display only in the 2nd, 5th and 8th.
