    Plate Vision v. Contact

Does anybody know the exact difference between these two attributes? In the training screen for an RTTS player, the text at the bottom for Plate Vision explains that it affects the ability of the player to put the bat on the ball. Sounds to me like another way of saying "make contact," which would make it a redundant attribute. So there must be another more nuanced reason for it, but I've never been able to figure out exactly what that is. Can somebody explain it to me?

Plate vision makes your PCI(Hit Circle) bigger therefore letting you hit pitches out the zone. It also determines simulated strikeouts.

Plate Vision is generally used if you sim games with your RttS, the CPU will use that to determine how often your player chases balls out of the zone. Contact is basically how big your PCI is and often you make contact (be it good or bad) with pitches

I see. So in that case, it's really only beneficial for somebody who swings at pitches outside the zone. I honestly don't chase a lot so I guess it's better for me to focus on increasing the contact attributes.

That's interesting. I don't sim any games, so again, it seems that it is better for me to use my points on contact.

Plate vision affects ur k rate n plate disc affects ur bb rate in simulated games. Plate vision n a game increases ur PCI but doesn't allow you to make better contact.

Plate vision, contact n power all do affect the size of PCI though.

Plate vision is really just there to help you put ball in play n avoid strikeouts.

I look at it like this:

Contact = BA (or BABIP), how likely the player is to get a hit when he puts the bat on the ball.

PVis = How likely the player is to put the bat on the ball.

PVis matters in general, imo, especially if using Directional.

I see more K's and swings and misses with Chris Davis vs RHP (high contact, low PVis) than Christian Yelich (high contact, high PVis).
