Directional Hitting

Why are people allowed to use this as an option in H2H games either in DD or Play Now? It's an absolute joke with the cheap hits and runs I've given up.

It requires absolutely no effort on a players part and is total bush league nonsense. Folks should either have to use Analog or Zone when playing in DD or Play Now.

I haven't played one Zone or Analog user all year. So thank you SDS for giving bonafide scrubs an opportunity to earn absolutely nothing in game.

It should be usable only in RTTS, online and offline franchise, and the game rooms. It has no business in matchmaking competitive play at all.

It's just a man sharing an opinion, however the reality still is that lets be honest:

Timing masked as directional being allowed in DD and Play Now H2H games is pathetic.

That hitting option should only be allowed in the game rooms, and any of the single player modes plus online/ offline franchise.

Re: Directional Hitting

So you're basically saying that the average Joe (myself included) should pay full price for the game (because sales are important in keeping MLB the Show going) but if they can't master zone hitting they should be forbidden to enjoy the on-line experience?
I personally don't master zone, I can't hit with zone, I can BARELY hit with timing. But I still buy the game because I enjoy it. Should I be denied on-line head to head and DD because I'm pathetic?

Instead of complaining how about you advance a proposition that may be considered for MLB 17 ? Something along the lines of both users using the same hitting and the host choosing?
If you are hosting, set yours to zone and anyone playing you will use zone. If you join a game with directional, play directional or simply don't join the game.

isn't this something more fair to average Joe?

Re: Directional Hitting

I haven't played a lot of on line games this year. Way too many problems for me so far. Anyway, my question to the OP is, how can you tell if someone is using directional? I'm pretty sure I've read that the opponents PCI doesn't show any movement on my (your) screen.

Re: Directional Hitting

I agree with riker. The PCI location is never shown, so how can you tell what controls they are using?

Re: Directional Hitting

I think Zone-Hitting is far superior to Directional hitting. In fact, players using Directional are in a disadvantage. I'm saying this as someone, who uses Analog or Directional.

Re: Directional Hitting

I'm curious how someone can think directional is more overpowered than analog.

Zone definitely takes the most skill, but it also yields the best results and has a wider timing window.
