4 seam fastball = cutter/slider?

I love the Show but on thing that has frustrated me to the point of ignoring the game for extended periods of time is when a 4-seam fastball moves like an explosive cutter or slider. This is especially troublesome when you are facing a pitcher that has neither a cutter or a slider in their repertoire... so why would you even look for a pitch that they do not have!?

This has been an issue for me over the last three iterations of the Show...

Has anyone else noticed this at all?

I haven't noticed a 4-seam fastball behaving like a cutter or slider. I've seen movement, but nothing like a slider or cutter.

What's the camera angle you play on? Maybe that's why it seems to cut for you. I don't notice any cutting/sliding with a 4-seamer. It's pretty straight. 2-seamers have some action on them. Perhaps that?

IRL, 4-seam fastballs have some action on them. They are not literally straight.

You can check out some pitch f/x graphs/plots to see.

The pitcher needs a high movement rating in the pitch to really see it. When I use Hector Neris in one of my franchises (80's movement rating), I can clearly see the movement.

So the fact they have some movement on them is good. Shouldn't be as much as a slider but a cutter, I could see, especially from high movement pitchers.

It'll be a little extra work on your part, but have you tried lowering the break/movement slider all the way to zero for pitchers you are going to face that throw the 4 seamer? Even then, you may see a little bit of cut/slide, but that should be very minimal.
Maybe you are blessed with very good eyesight, which in this case it may be viewed as a curse

This is exactly right. The pitchers who have a 4-seamer that go straight are either guys that throw 100+ and can get away with it, or guys that aren't playing professional baseball.

Don't 4sfb move arm side like 2sfb just not as drastically?
