For those of you that play rebuilds, when do you guys start the fire sale?

Do you start trading right away or play until the trade deadline and then rebuild or, wait until the offseason?

Just curious.

Unless the CPU offers me something that screams "pull the trigger!"
I rarely make a trade before the allstar break, I like to see just how bad things can get with the team I "inherit".
Also, I love the offseason & browsing thee free agent list. Too bad I don't usually have Yankee Money,
that would be the pefect time to channel my inner Steinbrenner.

What do y'all think about Colorado?
I'm trying to figure out how to rebuild their pitching staff without giving away to many big bats.

Go back 12 months and it's the Phillies, hands down. That is no longer the case however thanks to a 2015 which saw them restock the club with shrewd trades, and fine drafting. They are probably an ace and a power hitting OF away from contending again.
The Angels, Marlins, Tigers, and Mariners all have terrible farm systems, but they have enough big league talent to make rebuilding the club easier.
The Padres though have neither. At present the big league club has middling talent not worth much in the open market, and the farm system, despite the additions of Javier Guerra, Manuel Margot, and Logan Allen, remains one of the worst in baseball.

This is why I am intrigued by the Padres. That's who I'm going with.

This year I did it the earliest I ever have and that was after 50 games. I was only 10 games below .500(and somehow still 5 games out of 1st with the A's), but I'm building towards the future and not going to throw that away just to possibly have a chance at a weak division now and then pay for it later. I'm usually not the type that trades a lot during the season either, but I've already moved Lowrie, Madson, Doolittle, Butler, and Alvarez and have over $50 million in free money for next season and I also was able to bring in some solid prospects and not totally kill my team at the big league level as I still have some solid players that are actually winning more in the sims(I play 1 game, sim 3 days) now than before I made my moves.
