Method A. As soon as the pitcher raises his foot, I'm off. Works 60% of the time, 100% of the time. Helps to boost the steal ratings of course.

Always, always B. Even online. I don't get picked off unless I take a step lead, and as others have said the jump is ratings driven.

B. Depending on the situation/pitcher especially online for the most part they don't pay attention.

Re: How do YOU steal?

I have always used the right analog stick for steals. But only for steals. I use the buttons for base running.

I'm a bit confused by the "manually retreat" thing from option B. I've been using B, and occasionally the pitcher will do a pickoff and my guy will just take off running to 2nd, but for the most part, he automatically dives back into 1st when someone tries to pick him off.

If you manually send the runner on option b & there is a pickoff, you have to hit R1 to retreat.

Re: How do YOU steal?

can you use right trigger to steal?? or is that a misprint? i wait till just before he begins his wind up, tap a lead, then hit LEFT trigger. sometimes with speedy guys, i just tap L2 immediately sit back and wait lol. and i never hold the trigger, or manually retreat. so i dont think my method is either
