Re: MLB The Show 16: Help with analog pitching

Some times I find it helpful to pull the joystick back in the opposite direction of the side of the plate. So if I want to throw a pitch outside to a righty I'd pull the joystick back slightly to the right. I always try to think of a clock and making sure the joystick goes all the way across. So right down the middle would be 6-->12, outside strike 5-->11, outside edge 4-->10....

Good luck! Although it's hard to get the hang of, analog pitching definitely gives you the most control of your pitches.

Re: MLB The Show 16: Help with analog pitching

All good tips. I went back the meter for a couple of games, and it just didn't have the same feel of control analog did. One example: Leadoff batter squares around to bunt after I've started the pitch, and with analog it was pretty easy to adjust the pitch mid-motion.

After just playing with it for a number of games, it is starting to feel a lot better. I actually like the fact that I can't "master" it - i.e. I can't execute a perfect pitch every pitch. With analog, when I leave a ball in the middle of the zone and a good batter hits it out, I usually know exactly what I did, the same way a real life pitcher knows when he releases a hanging curve that he just screwed up. I don't want a system that lets me throw a perfect pitch every pitch, just one that rewards practice and "feels" right. Analog does that for me.

Hmmmm I like that idea. I will have to tinker with that some. I pull straight down but I do rotate my thumb (or try lol) opposite the way I wanna go so I am pushing in that directions.
