I get Sooooooo irritated at hearing the exact same commentary (RTTS) game after game after game. Even when my pitcher wins player of the game, exact same lines. Have a bad call by the ump - "Boy I wouldn't want to face him right now, he looks really fired up!" It seems like they have about 30 lines.

I would gladly pay to have a large diverse commentary.

Can you imagine the backlash if they did this? All the,"why do we have to pay for something that used to be in the game??" type comments would break OS lol.

Not to mention the DLC would still have to be recorded in the offseason, so it's not like we'd be paying for additional time later in the year or something. If they recorded more commentary, they would just put it in the game I think.

I think brand new commentators and commentary immediately give this game a fresh feel. I'd love them to use a network score bug/cig too...

I keep the commentary on because it's my preferred method for being informed that someone is stealing.

I doubt I'd DL commentary, but I wouldn't have a problem if SCEA tried to earn a llttle extra income this way. I just don't think there'd be enough market for it to be a worthwhile endeavour. But if making a profit weren't the litmus for SCEA adding DLC, I would pay for
DLC uniforms, old stadiums, minor league stadiums & classic rosters.

The commentary makes me happy that this game and Spotify are both exclusive to PS4. Haven't heard a line since early April.

I keep it on because it ads to the feel of a MLB broadcast. And it does inform of things I can't see as an RTTS pitcher, such as when someone steals and (rarely) when the guys behind me in the infield are in a shift. (That is a pet peave, I have no way at all to see if my infield is in any kind of shift while pitching.)

But to get the exact same comments EVERY SINGLE GAME is really grating. He doesn't throw that change up often, but when he does its a good one! The comment about sitting down in the batter's kitchen and having a cup of coffee. The exact same comment whenever my RTTS pitcher is player of the game (or for that matter, when ANY pitcher is player of the game.) Its the same comments for the same situation, over and over and over and over....

I turn it off and turn up the other sound effects and stuff. Every time I heard them talking about how Josh Donaldson played in the Cape Cod league(so, every single game), it made me mad that I was in Woods Hole last summer and completely forgot to check out a game while I was there. The commentary is so shallow and repetitive.

The on-field sound effects are great.

I like to turn the commentary off for most games and use it in Saturday games. Kinda keeps it from getting old so quick. Plus I love the feel of being at the park. I wouldn't mind a more "radio" broadcast feel though.

Only thing more stale than the commentary is the Jon Garland and Carl Pavano pitching animations, which are inextricably still listed by name while a frigging legend like Roy Halladay is All-Star Wind-Up 7.

Well, when you play as many games as we probably do then the commentary get's stale pretty fast.

I think they put added pressure on the situation by trying to put in more unique comments; it doesn't matter how many they put in they're going to get repetitive at some point.

The season is 162 games a year, and when you watch a real game on a typical Wednesday night there are quite a few lulls in the dialogue. Unless the situation is more critical, the play-by-play guy might not even call out all the balls and strikes, instead talking about which stadium has the best nachos.

There's a lot more "quiet" in the announcing. This is what they should go for, and use special commentary more sparingly, unless the importance level of the game is higher. Maybe that would help.

What bugs me more is the constant arm waving from everyone in the crowd during the early innings, especially those behind home plate. People in real life will sit and clap and have their beer and hot dogs. They get on their feet when something happens...

Put me in the minority camp, I guess, that likes the commentary. And there is no way that I would pay for extra commentary via DLC.
