Directional Hitting users - Can you provide me your franchise HR numbers?

For those who use directional hitting, would you mind providing me how many home runs each of your starters have in any season of a franchise you have played?

I'm curious how large the discrepancy is between perceived power hitters and non-power hitters. I always feel directional hitting is a poor system because we as users try harder for the home run for those power hitters, and don't want to risk the fly out as much for those with less pop in their bats.

I always had issues with this in the MVP franchise and the later MLB 2K games. Didn't even bother with it in The Show yet. Wondering how the results pan out, and how you ultimately use the system.

Thanks.

Re: Directional Hitting users - Can you provide me your franchise HR numbers?

I use directional hitting but don't really try and direct the ball so it plays just like timing. There seems to be a good spread of power in my franchise so far. I'm midway through August with the Giants (been playing a ton hoping to get to the offseason before 17) but hopefully this is close enough to a full year to give you some insight.

Belt 25
Crawford 24
Pence 18
Duffy 12
Posey 11 (missed half the year)
Span 5
Pagan 4

I have been using the Yankees on all star difficulty but I hit for timing so my first year number looked like this (leaders of HR was a three way tie with Jose abreu Brian McCann and Bryce Harper)

Bird 39
McCann 45
Castro 11
Headley 19
Gregorious 22
Gardner 26
Ellsbury 27
Hicks 13

You guys like directional over zone etc? I've always been a directional hitter, but noticed in lots of the steams and videos guys use zone a lot more..
Do you guys guess pitches?

I used to use Directional, but after playing online and watching these streams, you are at a disadvantage when relying on just timing and your players attributes. You could Time a pitch perfectly and still pop it up. When you use Zone you control where you swing and if you square it up and time it right, it's gonna be a hard hit ball.

Directional was very frustrating for those reasons.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Might have to get into zone. Thanks

Many players develop a habit in which they pull down on the stick when they use zone hitting. This could also be exacerbated by being late on pitches. If that's the case, then it probably balances out.
