Year to Year Franchise Saves

Hey guys! I know everyone is excited to get their hands on the show next week! I have a quick question regarding the Franchise carryover saves from MLB 16 to MLB 17...

I believe they added this feature a few years back and there were some issues that needed to be fleshed out.. I cant remember what the specific issues were, but I remember a thread discussing the negatives.

If I carryover a franchise to the next iteration am I going to miss out on any functionality... Or does the MLB Show infrastructure now allow for a seamless transition from one year to the next?

If there is anything left out, please let me know what functionality I will be missing out on... I do not have a franchise to carryover this year, but I am considering starting a franchise and carrying it over to MLB The Show 18.
