Is Retro a solid addition for kids?

My kid is 9. At no point has he ever been able to really play this game. It looks like this would be good for that. Has anyone given Retro a spin yet that can comment on this. Is fielding pretty easy,etc...

For kids it would be great. One button mode. Simple enough.

Not a mode for me though. Played it enough yesterday to get the 3 trophies for it. Probably won't touch it again.

that's pretty much what it's made for. One button to hit, one button to throw. It's a throwback to a time when video games were simple and didn't take hours just to learn the basics

Yes this is basically FOR kids and first time players. With that said it's not just for kids as in it's stupid and kiddie. It's a fun yet easy way for them to get into this game with the hope they transition to the full game in time.

I'll give it a quick go for the nostaglia kick, but that's about it. Agree with your comment on it working for kids due to being one-button.

My son is 11, he's huge into computer games but not sports games. He's really big on Minecraft and wants to be a YouTuber.

Re: Is Retro a solid addition for kids?

I'm on the other side of the fence here... I'm looking forward to the change of pace with a simple and quick way to play the game. It will also be a cool way to play with my other +40yr old friends when they come over.

Can't wait to play this mode with my Dad and Uncles when I go home after this semester. I know they played the old games on NES, so it will be nice to get some games with them without a learning curve.

I think Retro Mode will serve different purposes for different people. I hope it will make games a little more competitive for when I have friends over that don't play often.
