Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)

I just had a game where Corey Kluber had a shutout against me, 0 er, 2 bb, 3 hits. I think more information is needed before a patch is demanded. The Verlander situation described above where he gave up 2 walks and a hit in the fifth is an early hook but it's not indefensible.

Yeah, I just updated my post above yours. There definitely seems to be an additional factor about a pitcher's rating and how it plays into the manager hook behavior. This is based on only one season sim, I'm going to sim a couple more seasons today and see if they look similar.

Yeah, re: verlander my feeling is this.

Verlander would shake his head no if he even bothered looking over at his manager. The fans came to see him, he got in a little trouble, let's see you get out. Real world wise he stays in.

The game seems to ignore who they are and just goes straight math.

I agree though, let's keep reporting/investigating on this possible issue.

Starters def being pulled too early. Hope they tweak the Stamina slider or something. Right now it has little to no effect. Wreaks havoc especially with classic roster sets when the pitchers would go deep in the game, and often throw 9.

i did some minor testing on this myself, and noticed the stamina attribute plays a huge role this year... i changed some pitchers stamina rating from i.e 72 to 85 ( no formula used, just for testing ) and now these pitchers average from 5.5 to 7 innings per start....

the only issue i see now is long relief pitchers will throw 3 to 4 inning in sometimes 3 or 4 straight ball games.. no rest days

i do feel that the innings and cg's are more realistic this year with majority of pitchers

To piggy back onto this, I tested a couple more Simmed seasons. I upped both the User and CPU starting pitcher stamina slider +1 clicks, and I moved the Manager Hook slider -2 clicks, and it DID make a difference in Simming. I have yet to test and see if manager logic in-game has changed.

But SP's with 80+ overall ratings were averaging more like 6 innings per start, in the 180 inning range, give or take. Lots more guys in the 175-200 IP range at the end of the season. Elite starters were still over 200 innings for sure, but nothing outrageous to skew the numbers of IP, CG, or Shutouts. I'm going to run with this for a while and see what happens.
