heck, if a ball can travel a measly 302 feet and be a HR, then ANYTHING is possible!

Funny how all of these unbreakable historical records were broken during an era where such measurements were either not capable of being properly recorded and/or the feats somehow have only been verified by "eyewitness accounts."

If you believe Mantle hit a 700+ foot home run, then you probably believe that Uncle Rico threw a football over them mountains too.

Re: YouTube Gamer Hits 602 Foot Home Run

I tried to recreate Crosby's HR with a maxed out Stanton, on beginner, with maxed out sliders, at Coors. I hit probably about 30 HRs and gave up because I couldn't even get close to 600, even when I was hitting 101 MPH fastballs. Crosby's HR was a complete anomaly, don't expect this in regular play or even maxed out play. If unrealistic HR distances become more common as the year goes on then get worried and complain, but there is absolutely no reason to get upset over a single piece of data.

Curious as to how many times this needs to be stated.

And yes, I do believe that Mantle hit several homers farther than 500 feet.

LOL at Uncle Rico reference. Wow. I gotta watch that movie again.

Honestly I think baby_bull summed it up best.

When Napoleon Dynamite gets brought up in The Show 17 forum, you know stuff is popping

There is a huge difference between "over 500 feet", which has been accomplished dozens of times, and 700 damn feet, or even 600, which has quite literally never been done since we started being able to accurately measure this.

You are defending a 600 foot homer, not a 500 foot homer.
