Catcher's signs

What are the catcher's signs for calling games. I see him holding up fingers and shaking them. What are the signs for pitch type and location?

Re: Catcher's signs

So if a catcher throws one finger he means to throw the x pitch? What about location?

They don't sign a location.

Re: Catcher's signs

^^ The above post before deleted was accurate with how the catcher asks for location, I meant they don't numerically signal for a location with 1-5 like some teams do/did.

Re: Catcher's signs

As kehlis said, some catchers signal location (by taps). Also remember that if you have API set to DEFAULT, you can ask for the sign again by pressing R2. It will also graphically show the desired location.

Yeah, I meant to edit it, and for some reason just deleted it instead. Autopilot I guess.

OP one thing to remember is that you have to know what you've thrown so far and also what the pitch does. Never throw an offspeed high in the zone, so you know right there if he wants it in out or middle, it has to be low. And know your count. If you're up 0-2 and he wants a slider outside, make sure it's off the plate. If it's 3-2 and he wants a slider, you probably want to hit the zone. If Miguel Cabrera is up there, maybe don't give in and know that a walk could be better than him driving in a run.
