CPU Gold Glove Defense
Anyone else sick of the gold glove defense literally every CPU player gets? Diving catches everywhere, slow/bad outfielders running down rockets, every shortstop having a cannon from deep in the hole (3rd basemen too). Seems like sds may have overcompensated on improving the CPU. Anyone else getting annoyed by the absurdly good D.Tags: None -

This hasn't been my experience. I've seen the CPU make some incredible plays, but so have I. And haven't seen them to the point I would say they are excessive.
I actually think the defense is one of the strongest parts of the game this year.
Sent from my iPhone using Operation SportsI can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: CPU Gold Glove Defense
I am incredibly bored of it. Went for second on a bloop, only to get doubled off at first because of a sliding catch. Had Sano make a diving stop on a rocket, something he simply is too slow and lumbering to reliably pull off, then he paired it with a laser throw. I'd had dozens of smoked liners stolen from me. I've had tens of double plays turned on jump throws. I've seen a whopping ONE throwing error from the AI in the infield in Conquest, across nearly 60 games. I had one today where David Wright, for me, just flatly let a foul pop hit him in the hat, a ball that was there so long I guess he got bored of waiting on it to come down. I've had Matt Carpenter drop a few popups as well. I've had my OFs ignore a few hard grounders, letting them get to the wall for triples (and one HR).
It just seems that there is no real point of defensive ratings for the AI. They are just about never making mistakes, and they're making all kinds of diving, spectacular plays. I popped a bunt foul today, about 8 feet behind the catcher. It barely got into the air before coming down. The catcher immediately stood, whipped around, and laid out to steal it. It looked really unrealistic in its motion. That's the part that bothers me--not having hits stolen, but how the means they steal the hits looks superhuman.Comment

Re: CPU Gold Glove Defense
I havent played a ton of games this year as I am waiting for OSFM to really get going but I havent noticed this at all. Matter of fact I have noticed LESS amazing plays. I have noticed more failed attempts. Im actually very happy with the fielding in the games I have played so far this year.
Only thing I havent liked is that infield hits dont seem possible at all but then again I have not played many games and infield hits are not the most common thing."Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion!"
