Meanwhile its the norm to have 80% of the pitches I throw on corners be called balls even though they are in the zone.

Luckily automated strike zones will be here soon enough so this game wont have the need for this.
I've gotten a lot of strikes called balls as a batter. However, it happens to me more as a pitcher.

There is no question this years version is crowding the zone in a big way compared to years past. I will get the ball 3/4 of the way in and it will be called a ball way more often then a strike. Sure every now and then I get the call but it leans heavy towards it being a ball which to me doesn't feel like varied ump calls. Yes, if you do listen to Harold Reynolds telling you about the ump it does help a little but umps will still call a ball 3/4 of the way in the zone a strike sometimes even if it they tend to lean a certain way high or low in the zone. To me it feels more fake this year for sure and really really helps the hitters out a ton in a not good way.

I agree helps hitters way much they only look mid most dont ever swing on anything on the corners. This really hurts me cuz i am very good at painting but i have yet to see an ump as they say varied call paint there all the same

if you're using anything other than called being called perfect option on umpire calls then you are going to get what you get.

other than that, if the "ball" icon is over 50.1% outside the box on the borderline... it is going to be called a ball.. that is something that has been stated by devs a long time ago...

If it's online you can't even be sure the pitch landed where it says it landed. The guy you're playing against could of seen a completely different pitch location tha you. I've had balls right down the middle (or so I thought) be called balls both for me and against me. When the other dude has had a mic he tells me what he saw. We usually see different things.

SDS probably want more hits. PCI is bigger than ever, strikezone is smaller, if you put a ball down to the strikezone it's a wild pitch or a passed ball, super easy to defend the plate even when PCI is way off the ball. More hits, more bombs, more fun. If you like DD. One of the complaints of Battle Royals players last year was that every game was a perfect game or a no-hitter. I really hope one day these cards game become illegal.

Seems like I get an occasional call. (1 of 8?)

If that were closer to 1:3 or even 1:4, I wouldn't gripe about it.

.. I need a bigger sample set though. My roster time vs game time is way out of whack at the moment.
