None of us can read the minds of the devs but low runs scored are being cause by two things - balls curving foul which used to land fair and overpowered infielders. Both of those were touted as new features. I don't see them getting fixed.

Re: MLB '16 & '17: An Experiment and Observation

Ive played aprox 140 RTTS games in 17. The last couple of series my hitting really "felt" right.
Alot of HRs early, Hr drought in July early Aug. Hit 4 in the last 7 games. .345 28 hr 75 rbi.

Feel bad for the onliners but Im happy. Played 4 seasons with this guy in 16. Simmed most of the last season
so I could start a fresh season with the new game. The simmed season using 17, he went .320 25 90 fwiw.

I have not seen a 500 ft home run yet.

Re: MLB '16 & '17: An Experiment and Observation

I don't play online so bear that in mind. I have the game playing the way I want it right now. No way i could go back to 16

The CPU SP/Bullpen management issues are my biggest source of heartburn. Maybe I just worry less about issues than I did before but I'm thoroughly enjoying 17 and if they fix the CPU pitch management problems I'm set.

Re: MLB '16 & '17: An Experiment and Observation

As someone who, like most of you, spent hundreds of hours playing MLBTS16, I do think that the IDEA of MLBTS17 was a step in the right direction. I for one have been trying my best to keep an extremely positive mindset about the game, which helps me look past some of the little and not so little issues that come with this years version of the game. Unfortunately, to most (including myself at times) it is coming off as an extremely raw, and almost even rushed product (not even including the online half of this game).

I'd imagine that the super huge clean everything up patch will fine tune a lot of these issues that are occurring in the game, especially online play which is their cash cow.

I'm not quite sure what words to use, but it seems that next years version will most likely be an even finer tuned version of this years game. For obvious reasons in which this will literally NEVER happen, I for one would be a fan of a 2 year cycle, that way the product itself doesn't become "damaged goods", leaving a bad taste in veteran and new players all around as it already quickly has done.

I'd have to see multiple years of the current kind before I go that far. its been a rough month (actually 3 weeks) for SIE but given their track record with the Show, I'm not ready to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
