I haven't gotten there in '17 yet but in '16 the budgets grew too much from one year to the next. I could never figure out why but maybe there was something I was missing.
I controlled the Pirates and Cubs in my '16 franchise and after two seasons (during the winter of 17-18) the Pirates budget had risen to over $160mil and Cubs over $200mil.
I had enough to sign anyone. I ended up signing realistic free agents (Edison Volquez, etc) and each team was a good $30-40 mil under budget. I easily could have offered a $250mil contract with the Pirates and had enough money left to field a descent team. Not even close to reality.
I am not one to complain much about the details but I real enjoy the budget part of the game and I don't understand why it can't be slightly more realistic.
It seems like they started to build a mechanic in '17 where your performance has an impact on budget, but then they forgot to add the code tat Kees that extra money from year to year. Hopefully I am wrong?
