Devs can you please use Statcast new sprint speed for 18?

Speed ratings are sometimes random and make no sense.

Gardner speed in the 70's.... Judge 53?

Please let's use those tool to come up with a rating for speed.

Example: Billy Hamilton and Buxton both top at 30.0 ft per second. That should be a 99 rating.

Berlinger is surprisingly faster than Trout this year! 28.7 to 28.4! I find that so fascinating.

Gregorious is just as fast as Gardner! While he's much slower in the show!

Re: Devs can you please use Statcast new sprint speed for 18?

I think there might have to be a little more work put into that scale. I am sure there are some pitchers that are worse than Albert. Might have to move every one up a little. Not for sure though.

I think a person could take the sprint speeds and determine how long it would take a person to get to a bag. For instance if you take Buxton at 30 feet per second it would take 3 seconds to get to the bag. (not including out of the box time) So how long does it take a 99 speed player to go 90 feet in the show??? Seems like this could be done very accurately and a straight conversion might not be all that accurate.

Re: Devs can you please use Statcast new sprint speed for 18?

Those statcast numbers are a little misleading, you have some tall guys like Bellinger and Bryant at 28ish ft/sec, roughly the same top speed as Altuve and Trout. Statcast is measuring their fastest one second window, Altuve and Trout reach their peak speed much faster than Bellinger and Bryant who just have big strides. Would be nice to see an acceleration measurement or something. Or maybe limit the readings to just plays between two bags, I'd imagine the bigger guys who have good sprint speed numbers get them from plays where they a going 1st to 3rd/home or something so they have time to get to top speed whereas someone like Mike Trout can probably reach his top speed going 1st to 2nd.
