Real MLB Rules

Is it possible to lose a perfect game to a catcher interference call? I mean technically it is a baserunner which advances the runner to first base. Better yet, why doesn't The Show have catcher's interference calls once in a while if tuned properly?

The catcher should be charged with an error on catcher's interference so yes you'd lose the perfect game.

Re: Real MLB Rules

another way to lose a perfect game:
9th inning 2 outs perfecto on the line
27th batter pops a foul ball back and the catcher drops an easy 3rd out for strike 2
the next pitch the 27th batter strikes out game over 27 up 27 down no batter reaches base
but the pitcher only gets credit for a no-no, not the perfecto.
stupid.

I imagine it's not in the game because I imagine its a tough thing to implement into the game.

Plus I could see the cheating AI accusations that would flood this forum if someone lost a game or something due to catcher interference being called on their catcher.

has this been in any console baseball game? kinda reminds me of no 12 men on the field calls in madden, those sorta things aren't as easy to replicate. if interference is ever implemented, I hope its with an on/off toggle option.

I don't know of any baseball game that catcher interference has been in.

I mean, outside of a random dice roll, how could it be implemented to be triggered to happen?

That's exactly how I think it should happen. Almost like the challenge system. But only include it once in a blue moon. If challenges are possible, I don't see why this can't be included. Also it's mainly just creating the animation cut scene, and the hard part would be creating the glove bat sound feedback and the visual of it happening.

I don't see why it should be included to be honest.

And challenges are only at first base and are only an option for the user. The CPU never challenges a call.

I personally don't want to be playing and all the sudden the game decides that a catcher interference has occurred. With challenges I can "correct" a random decision by the AI, whereas with catcher interference I can't.
