I can foresee 1B being the main spot to upgrade at depending on Bird. Could use the bullpen and someone like Frazier, Hicks, prospects to trade for an upgrade there.

Will be interesting to see if Stanton’s opt out is in the game and if so, what he does.

A rotation of Severino, Tanaka, gray, Adams, and Sheffield looks solid for the long term.

SS will be interesting as well since Didi has historically not been rated well, so that may be Torres spot.

A lot of potential options here depending on ratings, progression, and who hits FA.

You plan on possibly moving on from Bird and upgrading at 1B? That’s an interesting and different idea, haven’t seen that before. Of course we don’t know the ratings yet but I haven’t thought that an upgrade over Bird would be needed.

I agree with you on Didi, hopefully he gets the ratings love he deserves this year.

Yeah I can see Bird being a high C potential with good defensive and low contact/decent power with no real room to grow at this point. So, yeah, i think there is room their to bring someone in.

White sox braves or padres. All have fantastic farm systems. Serviceable lineups as well. Will be fun to rebuild any of those

Still can't decide. I'm tossing around Atlanta, Detroit and Pittsburgh. Ugh I go through this every year trying to pick a franchise team and usually end up with my Jays.

I'll be running with the Giants...and honestly have no idea what I'm going to do. Super weak farm system...old roster. Only options are trying to see if I can pick up some hot prospects for some of my veterans.

Maybe hoping to pick up some free agents in the offseason etc.

It is going to be a long road...

Like i said earlier. 30 team control with my focus on 2 from each divison.

Yanks: Really nothing to do here. Find a trade where i can unload Andujar/Frazier for SP and try and sign Machado.

Jays: Guys like Donaldson, Happ, Smoak, Pillar will be traded at deadline to help the rebuild. Looking forward to using Vlad Jr and Bichette

Tigers: Continue rebuild. Trade Iggy and Fulmer. Try and trade Zimmerman. Whats the market for Castellanos?

Royals: Herrera, Perez, Gordon, Moose will likely be traded at deadline. Looking to add speed to that outfield.

Oakland: Keep course. Let the young guys take over. Think theyre not far off. Great pieces to build off of and not to much to trade. Maybe Lucroy at deadline. Need a young catcher and a front line SP

Seattle: Just contend. Find some SPing. Great lineup. Maybe i can trade a piece for a starter

Atlanta: Same as Oakland. Let the young guys take over. Swanson, Albies, Acuna and maybe Ruiz to go along with the young starters. Rotation of Teheran, Newcomb, Gohara, Allard, Sokora/Wright/Anderson looks formidable.

Miami: Well what is there to say. Looking forward to the challenge. Bour, Realmuto will most definitely be dealt.

Reds: Resign Hamilton. Keep Votto. Senzel, Peraza are the future here for me offensively. Wait for Hunter Greene to be ready. Definitely need bullpen help

Pirates: Marte will be dealt. Polanco possibly. Not much here really. Not a strong system. True challenge. Meadows will take over at some point.

Padres: Continue what theyre doing. Personally dpnt think theyre far off. Like the addition of Hosmer. Him and Myers will be my 3/4. Margot possibly in leadoff. Good depth in my eyes. Like Perdomo, Lamet at the top of my rotation. Think Espinoza will be a bp arm. Will trade Brad Hand to get more assets. Maybe i pull the trigger on the supposed Cubs trade at the winter meetings (Baez to SD and Hand/Perdomo to Cubs) or maybe theres a trade with the Yankees for Andujar.

Giants: This is the interesting one. Theyre an older team and no system to speak of. Will we contend in year 1? How long do I wait to start selling off the team?

As you can see, i like rebuilding teams. Like young teams with speed. Lol

My first moves will be to trade away Steven Wright (knuckleballers are hard to pitch with, and he might have beaten his wife) Sandy Leon (defensive catchers are overrated, and I use Swihart as my backup) and Brock Holt (will use Nunez as my utility man, better speed). I will try to get a really good bullpen piece, to try to mirror the Yanks pen. Kelly, Thornbug, Smith, Kimbrel they're just missing 1. Only other move I might make is to see if I can upgrade my lefty 1B from Moreland to someone better. Using Hanley strictly against lefties. If some of the guys are better than I think, I might just try to trade off above pieces for a few mid-level prospects to restock the system. I always play the 1st season through, and then I'll sim 5 or so years ahead and play as much as I can until the fall (NHL, Madden, NBA). This helps me not just trade off all my prospects for a stacked MLB team.

Love it but I always let Brock rip up AAA lol I hope they get rid of Wright in real life I don’t like that guy Sandy can stay until Swihart and Vasquez prove themselves can’t wait to see the pen this year hope they can stay healthy for once

I'll probably play with the reds this year. Maybe I resign hamilton or deal him I don't know, one or the other. But no way should he be hitting leadoff, I'll have him hitting 7th usually. How can you even justify having a guy in your leadoff position with a sub .300 obp these days? Just can't do it. I don't care about the speed. I don't understand what Price is thinking leaving him up there.

That's how I'd line em up most days. Maybe even flip Votto and Suarez around.

I thought about hitting him 8th but if he gets on the pitcher is gonna be trying to bunt him over anyways, I'd like to have him hitting directly behind peraza though so if peraza gets on ahead of him you can still utilize the speed of both and not have someone in front clogging the bases.

I always hit extremely well with Bird for some reason. In my 17 Franchise I hit .341 with him with 29 HR. He had the little fire icon by his name damn near all season. In MLB 16, when I got my Franchise to 2017 (I sat him 2016 since he missed the entire season with injury IRL) I was hitting in the .320s with him near the ASB when I abandoned the Franchise because MLB 17 came out! Hopefully I have the same success with him in MLB 18!

I'm thinking my lineup to start the year will be:

                          LF - B. Gardner
                          RF - A. Judge
                          DH - Stanton
                          1B - Bird
                          C - Sanchez
                          SS - Didi
                          CF - Hicks
                          3B - Drury
                          2B - Walker

I may flip/flop Bird and Didi according to who is hitting better at the time. For some reason I just feel better having a lefty in there between the Mega Powers and Sanchez. But I did think about batting Judge, Stanton and Sanchez back-to-back-to-back because imagine being a pitcher trying to pitch to those 3 in a row. Good luck! I may do that against a lefty sometimes.

One thing I'll try to do right off the bat is get rid of Ellsbury and have Clint Frazier as the 4th (5th, really) OF. In reality I'm happy with him getting more seasoning in AAA, but in the game I wanna play him at least twice a week.

Are you going to just release Ellsbury early on like the Yankees would probably have to do in real life to get rid of him? It’d be nice if we got the ability to eat salary in trades in The Show this year. I think Ellsbury could be a decent bench piece for at least the first season. Depends on how he’s rated compared to Clint Frazier.

My goals this year w/ the Sox are to (obviously) win it all, but also revamp the farm system. It's funny how there are always guys you hit well/not well with regardless of their stats. I hit damn near .300 with Blake Swihart, and have for 3 years. I traded everyone I could for Freddie Freeman last year, and I hit in the low .200s. It's hard when someone goes cold, they REALLY go cold. My lineups are pretty set on real life, and then my bench consists of a speedster, and a super utility guy, and a catcher. Allows me an extra bullpen piece, which you always need. Although these Sox starters, I can usually get into the 7th 8th with Sale/Price/Porcello and I pitch extremely well with Eduardo Rodriguez. He was 4th in the Cy Young last year on all-star.

Every year I use my Hometown Cubs, my 2nd home Toronto and Oakland.
This year going to use 2 new teams
                                Of Course the Cubs
And than ATL as a young up and coming team and my 3rd team will be KC.
Kinda a team in the crosshairs of possibly competing or blowing it up and doing a complete rebuild by trade deadline
