Franchise feature "Style of Play"

They ask where can franchise mode, go from here. And I think of NBA 2K and its freelance system which makes the teams you face based on personnel, play a different style of game. I wish SDS would really invest if “Style of Play” (SOP) as a franchise feature based on the GM, Manager and Coaches as well as use their collective experience and create some styles of play hybrids of existing ones. Go back in time create a paradigm of “The Big Red Machine” “The Bronx Bombers” “Negro League’s” recent times the “Kansas City Royals” “Power house Pitching” “Small Ball”, “Money Ball” or “Station to Station” Also, how Teams play to the Stadiums adjust line ups to take advantage of the stadium as well as the Pitchers they are facing in a series.

Having the GM and Scout go after players that fit their SOP. Even if you have it on manual the cpu would suggest a player that you are overlooking, that fit your SOP. Style of Play would benefit you as well as an end-user it will allow you to scout and learn the type of team you’re facing. Let’s face it, you are absorbing a lot of info and some of it is overlooked.

Just think of how an injury can change the paradigm of a game or series, because you have to monitor your personnel and pick and choose who gets the nod. Now an injury occurs no biggie plug and play. This would put more emphasis on Quirks. Speaking of Quirks. Quirks should have a stamina bar like pitching and Showtime does, only in Franchise, if the player is not performing well in one of those quirks his stamina bar depletes after each series. Just like they are in ‘18 evaluating each pitcher after a series extend that over to the everyday players and their quirks. A little anecdote, Joc Pederson, one of his Quirks is “First Pitch Hitter” I know this and I use it to my advantage, I got a league leading HR’s in April because of this tendency. I often wonder if I were to miss a lot of 1st pitch or Dead Red when I swing at those I should be penalized for doing so.

I think Style of Play and Quirk Penalties would be a nice upgrade.
